Walks in South West England - This is a moderately easy walk along flat roads and fairly level footpaths except for a short slope towards the end of the walk and some stiles. Use ordinary walking shoes unless the ground is very wet. Walk up Brent Knoll -This is a walk along country footpaths that is very steep at the top, where some steps are included. This walk is not for the faint hearted but if you make the effort the rewards are spectacular. Use stout walking shoes in dry conditions, if the ground is very wet wellies might be better. Walk through Brent Knoll village - This walk of about two miles is through the main thoroughfare of the village. Ordinary shoes are adequate. Please be careful of the traffic. Walk across Brent Knoll in Somerset - This walk of about two miles can easily be completed within an hour. It contrasts the antiquity of the village with facets of modern life. Wellington boots are needed in wet weather. The first part is through a field which can be very muddy, the second part is on the main A38 Brent Street. Allow about one hour for this walk. The first part is very steep and the second part is through fields which can be very muddy. In winter weather make sure you wrap up well as part of this walk is exposed to the north wind.  Wellingtons or stout shoes will be needed. Walk to Edithmead and Back - Allow just over one hour. The return walk is just over two miles. This is an easy walk on footpaths along the edge of flat fields giving you a sight of vast open skies and superb views of the Knoll on the return journey.    Use ordinary walking shoes unless the ground is wet.  This is a "there and back" walk to Edithmead Cathedral" (Chapel).
