Brace yourselves………….……DANGEROUS CURVES… …Three women with one aim in common, to make people laugh, and sometimes cry. Viva, Anne and Jen bring together their various musical backgrounds of country, traditional and jazz to present your with a gourmet menu of familiar, new and humorous songs, all served up with rich, vocal harmonies and extra pepperami. The threesome shine the spotlight mercilessly on their own middle-aged status, men and thongs in a non-stop talk-shop of silly jokes, self-depreciating observations and songs ancient and modern. With a touch of new age anarchy, the girls spare nobody in their search for the truth about rubber gloves and slim-line bras. And will Abba’s Waterloo sound the same once you’ve heard their version, Portaloo? But behind the outrageous spoofs, there is a genuine talent for vocal harmony and musicianship, with many of the songs they sing being penned by Viva Smith, who provides accompaniment on guitar. If you want a little taster of their superb music, then visit their website at www.dancurves.co.uk Find out for yourselves - Sat 21st February 2009 at Brent Knoll Parish Hall. Tickets £10 available from the Village Shop or (01278) 760 477. Doors open 7.30pm. |
