Village Design Statement

February 2004

A small group of residents have met recently to discuss the possible production and implementation of a Village Design Statement.  The purpose of this initial meeting was to tease out village matters for the future and to set out a proposal for a Village Design Plan which would act as a guide in decision making on the following issues:

          *  Planning
          *  Transport
          *  Preservation
          *  Facilities
          *  Environment
          *  Other Amenities
          *  Architectural Detail

The final Statement should send out strong signals to both planners and residents as to what can and what can't be done in the village with reference to the above points.  Above all, it should set a precedent in decision making guidance.
