NOTES
FROM THE MEETINGS HELD ON 24 and 28 FEBRUARY 2005 FOOTPATHS The
Council agreed to the provision of a waymarker disc to indicate the start of the
path from Wick Lane to Lympsham, following representations from a local
resident. The
Council had previously decided to oppose the provision of a footpath signpost on
account of concern that increased use of the level crossing of the railway line
should not be encouraged.
It was noted that repairs had been carried out to two footpath stiles and
decided to seek quotations for repairs to another one. VILLAGE
GREEN It
was noted that some grant assistance had been received towards the cost of the
proposed hard surfaced pathway between the Green entrance and the vicinity of
the slide, and that decisions on further applications for grant were awaited.
It was agreed to proceed with the work once the outcome of those
applications was known. HIGHWAYS The
Council agreed the proposals put forward by Somerset Highways for the imposition
of a 30 mph limit round the Church Lane loop and adjoining roads. It also agreed
to contact Somerset Highways and the management of Somerset Court about the
recent accidents in Harp Road. POWER

was agreed to contact Western Power Distribution to express concern about
reports of frequent power supply interruptions in areas of the Village. PLANNING 3
