NOTES
FROM THE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 20 FEBRUARY AND 6 MARCH 2006 FOOTPATHS
AND BRIDLEWAYS It
was agreed to contact Somerset CC about the poor state of Lympsham Lane and a
missing “public footpath” sign at Coombe Side.
The Council also learned that the grant aid towards the proposed
information board, mentioned in the February report, was now unlikely to be
forthcoming unless the Board consisted of nothing but information on footpaths
with no information on wider matters of interest to visitors.
Since a favourable quote has already been received for the provision of a
general information board the Council will now consider whether to proceed even
in the absence of grant funding. HIGHWAYS
AND TRAFFIC SPEEDS The
Council agreed to contact Somerset Highways about the poor condition of parts of
Battleborough Lane and Wick Lane. The
promised information about the traffic speeds logged by the “Speed Visor”
equipment when it was situated in Brent Street is still awaited.
A further visit from the device has been promised: this time it will be
installed in Station Road. SOMERSET
