CONFIRMATIONS
OF MINUTES
08/81 : Confirmation of
minutes of meeting held by the Parish Council on
7th of July were agreed and accepted by the meeting.

and accepted
by the meeting. 4.
PLANNING
APPLICATIONS:
08/82 : Cllr Filmer left the
meeting during all discussions on planning issues
07/08/00015: Planning
application for extension to sales area and road
associated improvements for Wyevale garden centre Brent Knoll. The
Council agreed with one abstention to the proposal in principle on the
Grounds of benefits associated with the road improvements and the
Commercial benefits to the area with regard to jobs etc. The Parish
Council
However expressed concerns over the infrastructure and more specifically
Water and sewer capacities in view of problems in the past with this development.
In addition the Council is of the view that the sale of goods schedule put in place when the previous application was
granted should remain with no further additions to the product ranges. The
Parish Council Have
also requested that investigations into the issues of water and sewer Capacities
should be made prior to application being granted. It is further requested
that the speed limit on the north bound A38 between Edith mead and
Wyevale should be reduced to 40mph. The effect of this change would assist the
exit from Brent Street with its limited splay. 07/08/00018:
Planning application for erection of livestock building on land At
Collis Farm Bridgwater Road East Brent. The council unanimously agreed To
make no observations to this proposal. 07/08/00019 : Planning
application for an extension to the south east elevation a loft conversion and
detached garage. The demolition of the existing garage. The Parish Council
decided unanimously to support the proposal for the following reasons. The
amended plans now take account of provision for bat conservation, the positive
green proposals for the development and the improved visual aspect of the
proposal and asbestos removal. Sedgemoor
district Council will receive the comments of the Council by 9am on the 19th
August . 5.

It was unanimously agreed by the meeting to approve these payments for
August 2008.
The comments on these applications were forwarded by email on the same
Day as the meeting and were confirmed by SDC. 6.
MATTERS
FOR CONSIDERATION
08/84: Papers relating to
Audit requirement. The Clerk provided the meeting
With a number of papers in connection with risk management by the Council
Internal financial controls plus a schedule for examining our financial
process.
It was agreed that we should adopt the process and look in more detail at
the
Financial aspects of the Council at suitable meetings in October and
April. At
Those meetings members will have all the relevant papers in order to ask
any
Questions regarding Council finance.
08/85 : A Letter was
circulated to the meeting with regard to the grass cutting Contracts for St Michaels Church to which the Parish Council make annual
grants. It was noted that Jason Mayo our village
contractor is now
Undertaking this contract for St Michael’s.
08/86 : The meeting was
updated on the plans to archive much of the unused
Correspondence. The Clerk has placed documents with the Somerset
Records office in Taunton. The meeting agreed that we should get old
legal
Documents scanned and put on disc prior to lodging them with the Taunton
facility.
To pursue the steps to the Knoll improvements. This project has been
agreed
Principle to be part of the local initiatives funding . The up to date
estimates of
Cost are currently between 8 to 10K. The SCC would be prepared to fund
half
The cost and the remainder being funded by a number of potential sources
Including the National Trust, Viridor and the local Trust Nuttall. These
will be
Investigated to find the required funding levels. The next meeting of the
local
Initiatives forum will be October 15th
