Minutes for the Council meeting held on the 17^th November 2008 in the Village School

1.         APOLOGIES:

08/180 : Apologies from Cllr Vohra,  Cllr Borland Cllr Owen and Cllr Mills Roberts were noted and accepted.

2.         DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:

            08/181 : Cllr Filmer on all planning matters prejudicial interest.

3.         PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

            08/182 : 07/08/00026 Replacement dwelling Jasmine cottage Wick Lane Brent

            Knoll. Existing property to be demolished. The Parish Council gave positive support

            to the proposals on the grounds that the new plan improved the carbon footprint and

            Is a significant improvement to the existing property. This decision was unanimous

            the comments on these applications were forwarded by email on the same

            day as the meeting and were confirmed by SDC.

4.         FINANCIAL MATTERS

            08/183 : The clerk updated members on the annual budget with forecasts to the end

            of the financial year in March 2009. Members were circulated 3 papers ( A ) a

            detailed working sheet  (B ) a consolidated budget and ( C) a statement of Council

            finances to the middle of November. The annual budget is forecast to end up at

            10% below the annual budget set at the beginning of the year. The process for next

            years precept is now under way and a draft proposal will be available at the next

            meeting on December 1^st.

5.         MATTERS OF REPORT

            08/184 : Members were updated on an ongoing issue at the rear of the village green

            and were informed that the owner of the land adjoining the rear of the green had  

supported the Parish Council in putting in order the damaged fencing and

            associated spoil heap which has made the boundary in secure and potentially

            dangerous. A letter will be sent from the Parish Council seeking permission to

            use the owners land to gain access for the repairs. This will reduce costs.

            08/185 : It was reported that two benches one near the Parish Hall ( Ronalds Bench)

            needed re varnishing and the other Nuttall Trust Bench in Cedar Close also needs

            re varnishing. The Parish Council has agreed unanimously for this to be done.

6.         DATE OF NEXT MEETING:

            The next full meeting of the Parish Council will be on December 1^st 2008

             The meeting Closed at 8pm
