NOTES
FROM THE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 16th April 2009 FOOTPATHS
: There
were no issues raised, however the Chairman thanked all who supported a
successful opening of the new Knoll footpath and the opening ceremony. HIGHWAYS
: Some
concerns raised about road breaking up near to Ralphs Lane wood on the right
side by the large gates. A letter will be sent to highways regarding the
maintenance of this road. There has also been reported a drain cover corroded in
hill lane just prior to Ball Copse. Concern was also expressed regarding traffic
density in hill lane and its use as a possible short cut. VILLAGE
GREEN : Concerns
about litter around the green after events at the Parish Hall. We should write
to all those who hire the hall and ask for them to ensure cleanliness after
their event to promote good housekeeping. Clerk will write to bookings secretary
asking for some help in this matter. SPEEDING
ISSUES: There
were no new speeding matters discussed at this meeting suffice to say the Parish
Council have ongoing concerns
regarding the matter. PUBLIC
CONVENIENCES: Some
refurbishment has started by a working party to paint some of this building and
improve its general standard. Further work should be undertaken on the outside
to gutters etc. PLANNING
:
07/09/00006. Hillside Burton Row the erection of detached studio /Study. The
Parish Council made no observations to this application 07/09/00007
: Sanders Garden World ( Wye Vale ) New entrance extension and development. The
Council objected to this proposal on the basis that they need reassurance that
the plans submitted in 2008 for additional selling space were to include
associated road improvements and that commitment to this has been verified. FINANCE: There
was unanimous approval for payments to be made for services in our village. The
items were those listed on the pre meeting agenda listed on village notice
boards MATTERS
FOR CONSIDERATION: Annual
Parish Meeting : A
Slight change to the agenda was agreed to move the Parish Council report to the
last item for a questions and answers session by members of the village
community. Musk
Farm Entrance: Some
recent concerns about untidy scrub over hanging the pavements has caused Some
issues of safety in particular parents with children having to move into the
road to avoid obstructions the Clerk will write to make the views of the Parish
Council very clear. Verge
Modification Ongoing: This
has been a long running issue with various letters between County and local
members. A Letter has been received from the County which fails to move the
issue on further at this time so the Parish Council will make further
representations to Liam Gill of County Highways to further press home our
concerns about safety particularly of our children. Website
Management:
The Clerk has agreed with both the current Website manager and the Parish
Council to look after the website from autumn this year when the current
operator goes to university. It is important that this local facility is kept
fully updated at all times and reflects all of the events and activities in the
village Matters
of Report:
There has been a report that some buses may not be stopping to collect
passengers at certain times this will be discussed on a further meeting. APM
Reminder for 20th of April Parish Hall ( All Welcome ) 7.30 pm with
Speaker from Victim Support Next
