NOTES
FROM THE COUNCIL MEETINGS HELD ON 13 JUNE, 27 JUNE, 11 JULY, AND 8 AUGUST 2005 ANNUAL
ACCOUNTS FOR 2004/5 In
June, the Council unanimously approved the Annual Accounts for 2004/5 for
submission to the external auditor: these have since been returned approved.
VILLAGE
GREEN AND VILLAGE MAINTENANCE The
Contractor who had been appointed at the start of the year to undertake the
maintenance of the Village Green edges and the various others areas of grassland
and verges in the village abandoned his contract without notice at the beginning
of July. It took a little while to
arrange a new contract (which is why some areas appeared slightly untidy for a
time) but it has now been placed to run for the remainder of the year. PLAY
EQUIPMENT The
Annual Safety Report was received from RoSPA following their inspection of the
play equipment. Apart from a few
minor maintenance issues no works were required to be carried out. SPEEDWATCH Discussions
were held with members of the Speedwatch Group and with our local beat manager
to try and ensure that the Speedwatch group received appropriate levels of
police backup. There is continuing
concern about the ongoing problem of speeding in the village (and unfortunately
the great majority of the offenders appear to be locals) and further measures
will be kept under review. PLANNING
