NOTES
FROM THE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 10 DECEMBER VILLAGE
GREEN The
Council has learned that the decision on the availability of funding for the
project to provide new play equipment on the Green will be taken on 21 January
2008. If the decision is
favourable, it is hoped to get the equipment installed in April so that it is
available for the forthcoming summer. VILLAGE
MAINTENANCE The
Council agreed some slight amendments to the scope of the contract for
maintaining the edges of the Village Green and grass verges in various
locations: quotations are now being invited for this work.
Regrettably, the Contractor who carried out the work last year (to a very
high standard) has decided that he does not wish to continue. BRENT
CORNER NOTICE BOARD Further
to the note in last month’s issue, a new location for this Board has now been
provisionally agreed and it is hoped that the Board may even have been
re-erected by the time these notes appear. REVIEW
OF EFFECTIVENESS OF INTERNAL AUDIT The
Council has a duty to review the effectiveness of its internal audit and
financial control procedures each year. The meeting received a report from the
panel of Councillors convened to carry out the review, who concluded that the
current system was fully effective and properly protected the Council’s
interests. PLANNING
