NOTES
FROM THE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 7 APRIL 2008 VILLAGE
GREEN Following
up from the previous report new equipment is scheduled to be installed on
Tuesday 17th April after some unavoidable delays. This date would
only be affected by very poor weather conditions as the machinery needed would
get bogged down by a waterlogged site. There is a maintenance issue at present
with 4 or 5 stiles near the Coombside area of the Village green and we will be
attending to those problems in due course. SPEEDING
ISSUES This
continues to be a cause for concern and letters have been received by the
council in connection with this problem. The Parish Council take the matter
seriously and are keeping a watching brief on the situation. PUBLIC
CONVENIENCES These
have become operational again now after some problems with vandalism in March
The Council has agreed a maintenance contract which will take care of this
worthwhile and needed facility in the village. RECYCLING
BANKS These
do appear to be getting emptied now on a regular basis STRATEGIC
HOUSING NEED Council

housing in the village this is a regional study looking and teaming up with
other like Councils to assess the need for partnerships and other initiatives. This will be ongoing. ANNUAL
PARISH MEETING The

held this year on 21 April, and agreed to invite a guest speaker from the
Sedgemoor Citizens Advice Bureau. We will have reports from our District
councillor and County Councillor at this meeting. All are welcome to attend PLANNING
