meetings held on 1st December and the 15th December

ONGOING ISSUES:
08/223 Footpaths : The work is
now nearing completion for the Knoll Steps project
Members were keen to arrange some kind of publicity and opening
celebration in the
Near future.Concerns again over an area known as the jungle where it is
now diificult
For those who ride horses to negotiate the pathways. A letter will be
sent to Chris

08/224 Highways
: A meeting has been arranged with our local MP for discussions
About the way forward concerning the verge modification proposal in Brent
Street. It
Was noted that this action has been taken to further highlight the safety
issues and
Lack of support from the County Highways in this matter. Speed indicator
devices
Have been in the village recently under plans discussed last year.

Concerned at the frequency and also how other council areas have appeared

08/225 Village Green : Clearly

Was agreed to write to a local contractor to obtain quotes to remove the
spoil heap.
It was also agreed to look at goal areas on the green in the future and

Replace with a safety plastic goal structure.
08/226 Speeding : As always
and ongoing concern for the Parish Council and the
Speed indicator devices will only serve to improve awareness in the
village.
08/227 Public Toilets : This
facility seems to be ok at present time and a proposed
Minor refurbishment will take place in 2009. 5.

proposal of £20,000 for the year 2009/10 has been

PLANNING APPLICATIONS:
08/238 : There are no planning
applications to consider at this meeting
08/239 : Consideration ( Tree
preservation order regulations 1969 to fell red
Maple Tree suffering from Honey Fungus at Hill House
Battleborough Lane. The
Parish Council made no observations to this application.
8.
MATTERS FOR CONSIDERATION:
08/240: Brent
Garden Services quotation for forthcoming year. The quotation As
last year and was unanimously approved. 08/241 : Letter to be sent to local contractor for work to be done agreed by members. This
relates to the Village Green spoil heap and broken fence. 08/242 :
Annual Parish Meeting date set for the 21st April 2009 with a speaker
from Victim support. It was agreed by the meeting that the speaker should be asked to talk prior
to the business side of the meeting. Further discussions on the format Of
the meeting should take place at the March Council Meeting. 08/243 : Possible
move by Clerk. This was discussed by the members and the Clerk Stated
that he would be pleased to continue to serve the Council. 08/244 : Parish
Council vacancy. No applications have formally been received at the Time of the meeting the period ends on Wednesday 7th January. The Parish Council will then
decide to consider the issue of co options. 08/245
: The appointment of Alan Matthews as our internal auditor was unanimously Agreed
for the second year. 9.

concern over dog fouling and litter in our village has caused
Some concerns and this will be the subject of a request in the BKN 10.
