NOTES
FROM THE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 3 MARCH 2008 APPOINTMENT
OF NEW CLERK Owen
Cullwck was appointed by the Council meeting as the new Parish Clerk replacing
Mr Endacott who will be retiring at
the end o March 2008. Owen is married and lives in Burnham On Sea. VILLAGE
GREEN As
reported previously the site for the new RLT2 funded play equipment has been
agreed and once some small clearing work has been completed the new frames will
be installed. DOG
SHOW AT THIS YEARS FETE The
council discussed the proposal that a dog show be organised at this years fete.
After much discussion and in consideration of health and safety compliance the
council agreed to allow a show but, that it should take place within a
specifically designated and ringed area. The area proposed would then only be
available to dogs being entered into the show area. RECYCLING
BANKS The
council have been concerned at the poor housekeeping of the recycling banks in
the village but it had been noted of some improvement over the past month. ANNUAL
PARISH MEETING The
Council reviewed the arrangements for the Annual Parish Meeting which is to be
held this year on 21 April, and agreed to invite a guest speaker from the
Sedgemoor Citizens Advice Bureau. POWER
OUTAGES Western
power have requested that examples of specific problems regarding power issues
in the village and once we have this information we will write again to western
power with the information. PLANNING
There
is a proposal for a verge modification and providing a structured pavement. This
proposal is currently being discussed and further consultations are taking place Application
07/07/0020 this is a re submission of a previous application to which the
council had no observations at the meeting. The changes made in the plan are of
a lower construction and more traditional agricultural appearance. Michael
