DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:
08/187 Cllr Filmer on all
planning matters and on discussions relating to Amenity
Grants. Cllr Evans on Enforcement Item.

CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES:
08/188 Confirmation of the
meetings held on the 3rd and 17th November these were
Agreed and unanimously accepted.
4.
ONGOING ISSUES:
08/189 Footpaths : It was
noted that the SCC had now attended to the Jungle
Footpath and this was now looking much better. The Work on the Knoll
steps has
Started and will be closed to walkers whilst the work is continuing
08/190 Highways
: After a meeting with Chris Betty of SCC all of the signage and
Road markings are being improved and repainted. This work should commence
in
The new year. It was pointed out that the signage outside Westcroft Farm
is in need
Of repainting. It was brought to the attention of the need for bank
improvements to
Hill lane this has been the subject of previous concerns for this area.
08/191 Village Green : Paper
banks will be withdrawn as a result of Council
Contracts not being renewed. This facility closure is as a result of
falling levels of
Revenue for paper and is a measure being implemented across the County.
Bottles will continue to be recycled at the banks for the immediate
future thou’ long
Term future of this facility is not certain. The general condition of the
green is ok but
Is wet at this time of year it had also been reported about some litter
issues on the
Green.
08/192 Speeding
: No new matters to report this month but the usual concerns
Before the Parish Council that it is a priority to ensure all speeding
relating matters
Are of utmost importance to the safety of our Village.
08/193 Public Toilets : This
facility seems to be ok at present and is clean and
Maintained to a reasonable level. A small working party will have a look
at some
Minor refurbishment in the new year. This will include tidying up the
guttering and
Some general updating 5.
CORRESPONDENCE:
08/194 : Local Amenity grants
for 2009/10 ( these need to be applied for in new year
08/195: The local community
transport requesting a grant ( further clarification on its
Purpose to be sought
08/196: Note of thanks from
the Parish Hall Committee for Grant

services being provided by Somerset Highways.

drawn up and put before the Parish Council with regard

PLANNING APPLICATIONS:
08/203 : There are no planning
applications to consider at this meeting
08/204 : Enforcement Notice
appeal. The Clerk read a letter from Sedgemoor
Planning with details of the enforcement appeal. The Parish Council
decided to
Make no observations or comment on the matter. It was decided that this
matter
Is being dealt with by the appropriate authority.
8.
MATTERS FOR CONSIDERATION:
08/205: Community
grants initiatives.
The Knoll steps project is now
underway As
discussed in previous meetings this project has been part funded by the local Community
grants fund and partly by SCC. The work should be completed by year End
weather permitting. 08/206 : Rear of
green fencing: The
permission was sought from the owners of St
Michaels House for access via their property to complete the work of removing The
spoil heap and replace the fencing. The Council agreed that this work should Go
ahead ASAP. 08/207 : RLT3
Funding : A
meeting took place in Burnham On Sea of the Coastal cluster
councils in November for an outline of the RLT3 Funding process and update So
far this fund has been used to provide a MUGA Facility at Berrow and it is urged That
we do take advantage of this fund to provide additional facilities in our
village. Councillors
agreed to give thought to this over the coming weeks and there is a time Limit
on the availability of this funding. 08/208 :
Circulation of reading material :
A system of circulation of reading matter Was
agreed to ensure that members are fully up to date with both local matters and County
wide issues. A box file containing publications will circulate monthly around The
Parish Councillors. 9.
MATTERS OF REPORT:
08/209 Chairman :
The
Chairman thanked everybody for their ongoing support of both himself and of the
Council.
08/210: Clerk : The Clerk
further indicated the lack of any real correspondence in
Connection with the verge modification scheme proposed earlier in the
year.
08/211 Members : Planning
liason in January and February will be The Chairman
A strong sewage type odour had been reported close to the Ivy Clad Hall
and the
A 38 Junction.
Cllr R Vohra announced his resignation from the Parish Council for
personal reasons
This to take immediate effect. The meeting expressed their thanks to Cllr
Vohra for
His contribution to the work of the Parish Council over the past 18 months 10.
